I served the United States Navy for six
years. I worked as a nuclear mechanic in the engine room.
I’ve moved around from west coast to east coast, all over the country with my family.
Upon completion of my time in service I moved back home, started working
full-time and then I decided that I wanted to pursue additional higher education.
I’m a full-time dad, a full-time husband and I work full-time and going
to a traditional brick-and-mortar school would be extremely challenging.
What Oregon State Ecampus has been able to offer is a method of learning
anywhere and anytime at any moment. The organizational skills, discipline and
time management skills I acquired in the military were able to translate well
into my time studying at Oregon State Ecampus. The military instilled a grit,
an edge in me that helped me push forward. The VA office at Oregon State
has been very helpful in answering any questions I had and their service was first-class.
The advice I’d give to any current active duty military or veterans
who are considering pursuing a degree at Oregon State Ecampus is do it.
It’s definitely worth the time and effort and it definitely pays off.
