Ellen Surprises One of the Show’s Most Memorable Guests

Seven years ago we met
an incredible woman in our audience
named Lisa German, and we fell in love
with her spirit. Over the years, she became a big
part of our Ellen Show family. Take a look. First time that I met Ellen,
I was in the audience. All of a sudden, she
started talking about one of the audience members. There was somebody in the
audience that got my attention. Take a look at her. Here she is now,
Ellen DeGeneres. [MUSIC PLAYING] Popped up my picture,
and I was terrified. I was actually
going to meet Ellen. Come on down. [MUSIC PLAYING] And ever since I sat
my butt in that seat, my whole life is changed. How’s it going? Oh. Ah! Ellen! What? So here’s what happened. We saw that. OK. Not yet? OK. We saw that energy,
and I loved it so much. And I said, I want to meet
her, because you’re surprised, and I love your reaction
when you’re surprised. So I want to surprise you again. I’m going to surprise you. OK. I know you need this– I know you need a new– What? A brand new car. Don’t do that. [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC PLAYING] I also want to– it’s OK. I also. I also. I also. It’s OK. I also. Also, I want to give you. It’s OK, though. It’s OK. All 12 days of the give aways. [APPLAUSE] A lot of people don’t realize
that, when Ellen gives you something, she gives you
life changing somethings. Then you said you
wanted your own home. I’m getting it. Imma get it. All right. And you’re having a hard time. And we want you to have your
own custom, built-to-own home by KB Home. You’re getting a
brand new house. You’re getting a
brand new house. [APPLAUSE] Turn around, Lisa. [APPLAUSE] She has given me so much,
and given my family so much. My life has so
totally, completely changed because of Ellen. [APPLAUSE] So we recently learned that
Lisa was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, and when
I found that out, I asked her to come here
and give us an update. Lisa, come on down. [APPLAUSE] Hi, Ellen. Oh, thank you so much. I’m good though. I feel– [INAUDIBLE]. I know you’re good. I know you’re good. [APPLAUSE] Every time. Hi, Lisa. Hi, Ellen. Oh my god. Hi. I love seeing all those
flashbacks of everything that we’ve done. It’s been fun. It’s been amazing. Yeah. It’s been amazing. All right. It’s good to see you. And when I heard about this,
obviously we wanted to see you and find out what’s–
you look fantastic. OK. Don’t you worry. How are you feeling right now? Well, I feel good right now. Uh huh. I’m here. Are you kidding me? Yeah. This makes me so happy. I mean, everything you’ve done. I’m so happy right now. Well, happiness goes a long way. I feel great. So that’s good. I’m glad happiness is
making you feel good. So let’s talk about
the diagnosis. How and when did you find out? Well, I mean, it
was the flu to me. I was just over at one
of my friend’s house, and I kind of did
this, and it hurt. So I went home, and you know, of
course you go home and take off your clothes. And I actually saw a big mass. I had never seen it there
before, but it was there, and it was huge. So I just felt it, then I knew. Like, oh my god, I have cancer. So they did a CT scan, and
they found it in my liver, so that made it stage four. OK. I took chemo on Monday. Yeah. Before I came. And it’s OK. It’s OK. I’m getting through this one. It’s a lot better
than the other. You’re a strong, strong woman. I heard your doctors were really
excited when you told them you were coming here. It’s hilarious. I mean, I’ve got serious– I’ve got cancer. in M.D. Anderson, and I wanted
to make sure that I could come. You know, fly after the chemo. Right. And they asked me, so
where are you going? I’m like, well, I’m
going to the Ellen show. What? I said yeah, go out there
and Google me right quick. So they– I mean,
seriously, I told them that. And they went out and googled. And these doctors and
nurses kept, you’re famous, you’re famous, you’re on Ellen. And they want to know when
the show is going to air. My Dr. Ramirez,
he’s my oncologist. He wants to make sure
that his wife knows when the show is on, because
she watches you every day. Wow. Yes. Well, I want– Dr. Ramirez? That’s– Yes. All right. Take good care of her, please. Yeah. I want everybody to take
really good care of her. Thank you. Thank you. [APPLAUSE] She’s our family. Thank you. I love this woman. She’s our family. I love you too. You got to take care of her. All right. So we’re going to take a break. And we have just– well, we’ll give it to you now. And then– What? I’ll talk to you
about something. What? Our friends at Shutterfly,
they want to help you, because you’re going
through some medical bills and everything. So a check for $25,000 is going
to help with the medical bills. [APPLAUSE] Oh, my. Oh, are you kidding me? Ah! Lord, thank you, Ellen. Oh my god! We’re going to help
with the bills. So amazing. We’ll be right back.
