ASSUMES OFFICE AS THE 58TH CHIEF OF NAVAL PERSONNEL. PRIOR TO ASSUMING OFFICE,
BURKE WAS DIRECTOR, MILITARY PERSONNEL PLANS
AND POLICY DIVISION. VICE ADMIRAL BILL MORAN
WILL RELIEVE ADMIRAL MICHELLE HOWARD AS THE
39TH VICE CHIEF OF NAVAL OPERATIONS. PRESIDENT BARAK OBAMA
MARKED HIS FINAL MEMORIAL DAY AS COMMANDER IN
CHIEF VISITING ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY, WHERE
HE PLACED A WREATH AT THE TOMB OF THE UNKNOWNS AND
DELIVERED REMARKS IN THE MEMORIAL AMPHITHEATER. IN THE PAST YEAR, MORE
THAN 20 AMERICANS GAVE THEIR LIVES IN AFGHANISTAN
AND IN THE WAR AGAINST ISIL. THE PRESIDENT REMEMBERED
NAVY CHIEF PETTY OFFICER CHARLES KEATING IV,
MARINE CORPS STAFF SGT. LOUIS CARDIN AND
ARMY MASTER SGT. JOSHUA WHEELER, THREE
