MIKE STEVENS DURING HIS RETIREMENT AND CHANGE
OF OFFICE CEREMONY IN WASHINGTON DC. STEVENS SERVED AS THE 13TH
MCPON AND SERVED OVER 33 YEARS OF ACTIVE SERVICE. MCPON GIORDANO RECIEVED
THE CUTLASS FROM STEVEN’S, ACCEPTING DUTY AS THE 14TH
MCPON OF THE US NAVY. CHIEF OF NAVAL OPERATIONS
ADMIRAL JOHN RICHARDSON WILL HOST THE 22ND
INTERNATIONAL SEAPOWER SYMPOSIUM AT THE US NAVAL
WAR COLLEGE IN RHODE ISLAND. SENIOR REPRESENITIVES FROM
MORE THAN 110 COUNTRIES ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND THE
WORLD’S LARGEST MARITIME CONFRENCE. FOLLOWING THE RECENT
ENGINEERING CASULTY ON USS FREEDOM, COMMANDER NAVAL
SURFACE FORCES ORDERED AND ENGINEERING STAND DOWN. THE PURPOSE OF THE
STAND DOWN IS TO REVIEW PROCEDURES AND STANDARDS
