Heroes Among Us: Retired U.S. Navy Lt. Bud Borner

FORMER PATROL DOG AND THEY’RE BACK IN EACH OTHER’S ARMS AND BOTH ENJOYING RETIREMENT TOGETHER. AND NOW TO ANOTHER HERO, IN THE HEROES AMONG US SEGMENT. EVERY FRIDAY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FLORIDA PANTHERS WE’LL PUT THE SPOTLIGHT ON MEN OR WOMEN WHO HAVE GONE BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY FOR OUR COUNTRY AND WE’RE MEETING NAVY LIEUTENANT BUD BOURNER. HE SERVED FOR TWO 24 YEARS IN THE NAVY AND SAID EVER SINCE HE COULD REMEMBER HE WAS A FAN OF THE WATER SO IT CEMENTED LIKE A LOGICAL CHOICE WHEN HE ENLISTED TO JOIN THE NAVY. HORSE A RADIO YOMAN STATIONED IN JAPAN AND JOINED THE MAN CRAFT RECOVERY FORCE AND WOULD PICK UP ASTRONAUTS AFTER THEY WOULD LAND IN THE SEA. THE FUNCTION THAT I PERFORMED FOR THE STAFF OF THE RECOVERY FOREST WAS THE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER. SEE THAT BADGE? THAT’S A DISTINCT OF BADGE SHOWING I’VE HELD COMMAND IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY. ALL NAVAL OFFICERS. I’M VERY PROUD OF THE FACT I’M A VERY SMALL NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN MY COMMUNITY THAT HAVE EVER HELD COMMUNITY. THE U.S. NAVY LIEUTENANT WAS HONORED AT A FLORIDA PANTHERS GAME WEARING HIS UNIFORM AND WITH HIS FAMILY BY HIS SIDE, HE PROUDLY STOOD AND THANKED THE CROWD FOR THIS WELL SERVED DIRECT MISSION, A VERY PROUD MOMENT AS THEY HONORED THIS HERO AMONG US. ON BEHALF OF THE FLORIDA
