THIS CENTRAL CABARRUS HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR JUST PULLED OFF A PRETTY INCREDIBLE FEAT. LANCE CAGLE WAS ACCEPTED TO FOUR US MILITARY ACADEMIES. THEN WHEN THEY ALL CAME I WAS LIKE WELL, THERE’S ONE, THERE’S TWO, THERE’S THREE, THERE’S FOUR. THE NAVAL ACADEMY, THE WEST POINT ACADEMY, THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY AND THE COAST GUARD ACADEMY. HE SAID HE DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THESE ACADEMIES UNTIL HIS JUNIOR YEAR, EVEN THOUGH HIS FATHER WAS A MARINE AND HIS GRANDFATHER WAS IN THE AIR FORCE. AFTER A LOT OF DELIBERATION HE HAS DECIDED TO ATTEND THE US NAVAL ACADEMY IN ANNAPOLIS MARYLAND. HE SAYS HE COULDN’T BELIEVE IT WHEN HE LEARNED HE GOT IN. THEY WERE LIKE YOU GOT ACCEPTED AND I SAID IS THIS FOR REAL? AND THEN THEY FINALLY SENT THE BIG NOTICE. AND I REALLY GOT IN. HE TELLS US IT IS HIS DREAM TO FLY AND THE NAVY WAS A BETTER FIT FOR HIM THAN THE AIR FORCE. THE LAST THING THAT REALLY GAVE ME A PUSH WAS I WANTED TO FLY, I WANTED TO GO BLUE ANGELS OR NAVAL PILOT OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. LANCE SAYS HIS FAMILY DID NOT PRESSURE HIM TO GO INTO SERVICE, BUT HIS FOCUS BEFORE STARTING SCHOOL WILL BE STAYING IN SHAPE AND CONNECTING WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
