Medical School Interview Top Tips – The Medic Portal

When it comes to the interview there’s quite
a variety of questions that you might be asked. And that makes it a little bit
difficult to prepare. However, there are certain kinds of question that turn up
year on year, and really you can look at those as three main kinds: the first kind,
asking a bit more about you and your hobbies, your interests, why you want to
be a doctor, why do you want to go to that particular medical school. Other
questions, about your understanding of a career in medicine, so do you have an
informed view of what the career entails, how was your work experience, what
positive things did you see, what negative things did you see, and how do
you think doctors cope with those. And then the final kind: looking at the kind
of skills a doctor needs, and evidence of where you yourself have developed
those skills. That again might be your hobbies, your interests, any
extracurricular activities you do at school, or any volunteering, so that the
med school can get a good idea of you as an overall person.
