Navy Announces Directed Detailing Initiative


NAVY OFFICIALS RECENTLY ANNOUNCED THE LIMITED
DIRECTED DETAILING INITIATIVE, TO MEET THE CRITICAL MANNING NEEDS OF THE FLEET. THE INITIATIVE GIVES THE NAVY THE ABILITY
TO SHORTEN SHORE DUTY ASSIGNMENTS FOR SELECT SAILORS WHO HAVE THE REQUIRED SKILLS NEEDED
AT SEA, IT IS DESIGNED TO AGGRESSIVELY ADDRESS GAPS
AT SEA AND PUT SAILORS WITH THE RIGHT EXPERIENCE LEVELS INTO HIGH-PRIORITY BILLETS. SAILORS WHO HAVE COMPLETED AT LEAST TWO YEARS
OF SHORE DUTY ARE ELIGIBLE TO RETURN TO SEA , AND MAY BE CONTACTED BY THEIR DETAILER AND
DIRECTED TO A SEA DUTY ASSIGNMENT PRIOR TO THEIR PROJECTED ROTATION DATE. SELECTED SAILORS WILL BE ENTITLED TO PAY INCENTIVES
