Navy Looking for Sailors to Serve as Recruit Division Commanders

EVERY YEAR AT RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND GREAT
LAKES, THOUSANDS OF RECRUITS ARE LED AND TRAINED BY THE NAVY’S FINEST LEADERS; RECRUIT DIVISION
COMMANDERS. “RDCS KIND OF GIVE THEM THE FIRST LOOK AT
THE NAVY. WHEN THEY SEE THAT PERSON STANDING IN FRONT OF THEM, THAT’S THEIR IMPRESSION
OF THE NAVY, SO THAT’S WHY IT’S VERY IMPORTANT THAT RDCS ARE THE BEST THAT WE HAVE TO OFFER.” CHIEF PATTERSON SAYS THE WORK IS CHALLENGING,
BUT THE LEADERSHIP SKILLS LEARNED AND ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES THAT COME FROM BEING AN RDC
ARE UNMATCHED. “RIGHT NOW WE’RE GEARING UP FOR SUMMER SURGE.
SUMMER SURGE IS THEIR BIG INFLUX OF RECRUITS ON BOARD, SO RIGHT NOW THERE’S UNLIMITED OPPORTUNITY
FOR SAILORS THAT ARE INTERESTED IN BECOMING RDCS.” SAILORS SHOULD SPEAK WITH THEIR COMMAND CAREER
COUNSELOR IF CONSIDERING RDC DUTY. FROM NPC, I’M PETTY OFFICER ANDREA PEREZ.
