Royal Credit Union Team Members Are Making A Difference


(light piano music) – [Angela] I had a really
awesome experience coming in, so that’s what drew me to Royal. We are a community. Or a family. We help each other and we help our members and I didn’t realize
the magnitude of that. Just being a member, I
didn’t see what happened and what went on behind the scenes. – I would say when I first got here, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. I just knew I wanted
to be part of something and I found it. – I think the energy that we have. The tenacity, the grit
that we have to do the best for our members I think is
something that people don’t see and a lot of our team
members take joy in that. I love the people. I love my coworkers, the
members that we help everyday. (calm piano music) – [David] You know,
when we first rolled out our core purpose and our core values, it truly becomes a life
changing experience in that you’re not doing it
while you’re in the office. It turns into you’re
doing this 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. – Ultimately, I want Royal Credit Union to be known as a really authentic
transparent organization that really cares. That really cares about helping members. That it’s not about making a profit. It’s about helping people. – [Alex] Do the right thing. I feel like that’s the
most important core value. And the reason that I say that is because that’s our ultimate job here
is to do the right thing. We wanted the place for them to almost feel like a community when they walk in. – I think it just all
stems from our core purpose and our core values
and just wanting to see our members successful and knowing that they’re taken care of, and every life is a story and just making sure
that they have the one that they want to succeed in. – I think in my personal opinion, being a life story advocate
would be simply helping another person achieve daily,
you know, weekly, monthly, or any sort of goal that
they have in their own life. Recently we had a member
by the name of Sarah and Sarah was going through
a lot of life changes. Very stressful. So, the Royal way is to
take time for that member. Acknowledge, be compassionate,
be caring, be kind. They shared baby photos. They talked about her new job. And most importantly, why she was there. To own her very own first home. It was pretty exciting
and it’s really rewarding to be able to truly make a difference and have that positive
impact in those lives that you can touch. – The member I’ve been working with, she was so relieved and so thankful that we found a way to make her bills, her debt payments with Royal
Credit Union more affordable that she was actually moved
to the point of tears. As far as our line of work goes, you can’t get any better than that, right? – A few years back, I
had a couple come to me that they were really struggling. They were on the verge
of losing their home and just having a lot of difficulties. And that’s been at least
probably four or five years now that we worked together. Every month, they’d stop in. We worked out a plan. They’re now comfortably in their home. They were able to refinance. Get them a better rate. And they’re back on track to where they’re comfortably financial. – In my department
alone, we kind of talked about doing a Christmas exchange. Instead of doing an exchange, we thought it’d be a better idea to sponsor a couple families in the area. And everybody just jumped on that. I had people volunteering
to go and do the shopping. I had people volunteering
to take the money and kinda orchestrate everything. I think that’s something
that just truly to the, our core purpose of that positive impact and really impacting our members. We’re truly here for the community itself. (light piano music) – [Monique] My name’s Monique Villeneuve. I’ve been with Royal Credit
