Small Business Stories: Harry Browne’s | Navy Federal

So in 1979 a buddy and I were working in a hotel and we basically started doing catering on the side. We just realized that we’d
outgrown what we were doing. I made an inquiry one day to a real estate
agent as a joke just to see if I could find a kitchen that would be rentable. And
he came back with this restaurant. I really did want to run a
restaurant at the time but it had a lot of charm to it I kind
of fell in love with this place and thirty-seven years later we’re still
here. When we first bought Harry Browne’s we had no customers. We were really
struggling to get people to come in then we established a very good you know local following. We’ve gone from this little fifty-seat restaurant to a 300 seat
restaurant. The rest is history Were located in Annapolis Maryland the
naval academy is right around the corner from us when people think about Harry Browne’s they think about a local establishment that’s been here for a long time taking care of the
community I started with Navy Federal when my dad
said you really should switch banks to your personal banking with Navy Federal
I did was a wonderful experience because it was so easy to do. We switched all of
our banking to Navy Federal because it was just a great fit for us. My first advice to anybody that wants to go into business and turn their you know what they think
is their passion into a career is to make sure that every day they’re gonna
love it as much as I do. The day I stop loving what I do is the day I
stop working here, but I don’t think that’s gonna be anytime soon.
