Uniform Changes Coming Soon

WELCOME TO ALL HANDS UPDATE, I’M PETTY OFFICER
JEN BLAKE. UNIFORM CHANGES ARE COMING AND YOU MAY HAVE
TO UPDATE YOUR SEABAG. NAVY OFFICIALS ARE WORKING TO APPROVE NEW
UNIFORM ITEMS AND UPDATE SOME OLDER ONES. CHANGES WILL INCLUDE A NEW WARM-UP SUIT FOR
PT, A COLD-WEATHER PARKA, AN OVERHAUL OF THE FEMALE CHIEFS’ AND OFFICERS’ DRESS WHITES,
AND LIGHTWEIGHT NWU’S FOR TROPICAL ENVIRONMENTS. THE NEW WARM-UP SUIT WILL CLOSELY RESEMBLE
THE RUNNING SUIT THE MARINES CURRENTLY WEAR AND THE NEW PARKA WILL BE A BLACK VERSION
OF THE COAST GUARD’S THREE-IN-ONE PARKA. THE NEW FEMALE CHIEFS AND OFFICERS DRESS WHITES
WILL BE REDESIGNED TO LOOK MORE LIKE THEIR MALE COUNTERPART’S DRESS WHITES, AND THE LIGHTWEIGHT
NWU’S ARE DESIGNED TO BE MORE BREATHABLE AND COOLER. THESE NEW PLANS COME SHORTLY AFTER THE FEMALE
WEAR TEST OF THE DIXIE CUP AND DRESS BLUE UNIFORM AND WILL MODERNIZE SAILORS’ SEABAGS. THE CHANGES ARE SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE AS
EARLY AS NEXT YEAR.

  1. Why do they have to make the female uniforms look like male uniforms? Females should be recognized as such. Does that diminish their power over enlisted? no. So why not give enlisted a female form to look at and enjoy. Navy is hard enough with all the pointless extra behavioural b.s. that they're subjecting the enlisted to.
